Image rights
Visual storytelling matters — so does permission to use what we show.
Our approach
Every published visual has confirmed rights status before go-live: owned, licensed, permissible fair use, or original editorial graphics created for Past 24. We record photographer, licence, and alt text in our media library.
Sample edition graphics
The sample edition on this site uses original graphics produced for demonstration — abstract shapes and typography, not third-party photographs. They illustrate layout and tone only.
Missing or broken assets
If a licensed image becomes unavailable — expiry, takedown, or broken URL — we do not leave a blank hole in the edition. Our policy:
- Replace with an approved fallback graphic or a rights-cleared alternative
- Update alt text and credit to match the replacement
- Republish the edition with a correction note if the visual change affects meaning
- Never hotlink to sources we do not control for production editions
Photography credits
Story cards show photographer and agency where required by licence. Tap or expand source areas for full attribution when space is tight on mobile.
