About

What is THE PAST 24?

Evidence-based progress, not escapism.

THE PAST 24 is a visual daily briefing: one edition, once a day, covering verified progress from science, health, climate, education, equality, technology, and human resilience. We publish on the web and by email — always free to read.

Why we built this

Most news feeds optimise for alarm. That distorts how we see the world. Real progress is uneven, incomplete, and often quiet — but it is happening. We exist to make that progress legible: sourced, contextualised, and honest about limits.

What we are not

  • Not a feel-good aggregator. We do not publish unverified claims or recycled viral posts.
  • Not a partisan outlet. We cover outcomes and evidence, not culture-war framing.
  • Not paywalled news. Daily editions stay public. Membership supports the work — it does not gate the briefing.

How editions work

Each edition is a finite scroll: a cover, a handful of story cards, sources, and a share prompt. No infinite feed, no autoplay trap. You can read in minutes, share one story, and leave with a clearer picture of the day.

Support the work

Optional membership funds editorial time, verification, and Sunday extended editions. See membership tiers or explore sponsorship if your organisation aligns with evidence-based progress.
